北海道から九州まで温帯域に広く分布し、中国（広東省）からも記録されている。枯れ木に生息し、食菌性。触角第3節はやや大きく、約10本の感覚錐を備える。

This species is widely distributed in the temperate zone from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and has also been recorded from China (Guangdong). It lives on dead branches and is a fungus-feeder. The antennal segment III is rather large, with about 10 sense cones.
